                <procdesc>
                    The production procedures, instrumentation, hardware and software used in the collection of these datasets vary depending on systems used at U.S. Geological Survey facilities. The process step describes a general process used to create these orthorectified images.

                    The orthorectification process used sensor information along with digital elevation data to generate an orthoimage. When mosaics were created, a fully automated, highly accurate cross-sensor image registration algorithm was used or semi-automated procedures using tie points were used depending on the commercial software package.

                    Each orthoimage is cast on the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projection on the 1984 World Geodetic System (WGS-84) using one of five resampling kernels: Nearest Neighbor, Bilinear Interpolation, Exponential, Cubic Convolution, or AutoFleming-Sharpness. All files were generated as unsigned eight-bit integers in GeoTiff tiled format with LZW compression applied.

                    GeoPDF files were created from the GeoTiff using JPEG compression (80 percent quality) based on a two standard deviation stretch. In some cases, no stretch has been applied in the conversion process.
